Yarn

Yarn began with a love for stories. For telling stories and listening to stories. Every month, in the warm and inviting back room of Le Cagibi in Montreal, a different half-dozen storytellers take the stage to inspire and delight. Featuring true stories alongside fictional ones, delivered off-the-cuff or read from a page, Yarn brings a one-of-a-kind experience to the thriving Montreal storytelling scene. Started in 2012 as a venue for some of the best writers and performers in the city to share their work, Yarn has evolved into a vital and nurturing storytelling community. It is co-produced by Jeff Gandell, Britt Dash and Al Lafrance, who also rotate hosting duties.

Others

Beyond Yarn, Al has performed at various storytelling nights across the country, including Confabulation, The Flame, Tour Wars and more! Highlights include the following:

– Here’s a story I told for the amazing show Confabulation in May 2014. Thanks to No More Radio for making it happen!

Here’s a story I told for CBC’s “Definitely not the Opera”. Spoiler: it’s a little gross.
